Well, hello!
I have exciting news about me and my business to share today. And a little musing on three things I know for sure about transformation.
(Brief sidenote: I don’t refer to ‘things I know for sure’ lightly. Have you noticed that the older we get, the fewer things we know for sure? I’m revelling in the lovely, lush grey space that sits between the black and the white much more often in my mid-forties than I did in my mid-twenties: there’s more scope for living authentically here).
First up, the exciting news.
I have a brand new home! A new website, a new brand, a new speaker’s reel, new positioning and new programs. This has been years in the making. Ever since I sold Inkling, I have been feeling into what comes next. I’ve tried on a few outfits, and been quite busy and happy in most of them. You’ll see them (or echoes of them) in what I’m doing now. Other outfits have been gifted to the universe’s equivalent of the Goodwill bin. But it wasn’t until I stumbled onto a definition of the word ‘alchemy’ that I had a sudden and visceral reaction: Ah! THIS is what I do!
alchemy (n). A seemingly magical process of transformation, creation, or combination of the two.
So, my new positioning is The Alchemist at Work.
Why Alchemy?
I specialise in transformation - I help organisations to tackle change with enthusiasm and ease, and I guide individuals to become the people they have always wanted to be.
I also guide the creation of impossible dreams. I help individuals, teams and organisations to clarify their visions and then bring them to life.
When you combine easeful transformation with skilful creation, you achieve results so easily and enjoyably that it feels like magic. Life takes on a whole new level of vibrancy. Our relationships improve. Our success sky-rockets. Our bodies feel rejuvenated and re-energised. Our lives feel lit up.
This is the magic of alchemy. It’s why I sometimes get called ‘a lightning bolt of love’ and ‘a witch who gets in people’s heads and makes them believe that anything is possible’. But here’s the secret: It’s not magic. It’s science.
Why ‘at work?
I spark change in workplaces across the world. (Google, PayPal, Vodafone, Qantas, NHS in the UK and so on and so forth)
I’m here to forge a wild new way of working, one where work seems like play, and life is in flow, and you feel lit up from within.
I help individuals, teams and organisations to build their transformation and creativity muscles so they can do the work they’re meant to be doing in the world - and do it with ease, purpose and enjoyment.
I am an advocate of practical alchemy. We cannot transform or create by learning theory alone. I teach practical tools and techniques that make transformation and creativity easy and fun.
What I teach works. It doesn't get shelved in your brain or gather dust in a drawer. It moves the needle long-term.
You can check out my new home here.
Oh, and also …
I have something especially magical coming up in September which I’ll share with you at the start of August. Sneaky secret squirrel peek: it’s for anyone who has experienced a life or career jolt and is ready to take some time to consider what comes next. There’s a waitlist! If you’d like to be on it, click here.
If you have any feedback on the new brand, website, positioning, topics, whether there should be a Ted Lasso Season 4 … ANYTHING! … I am all ears. And if you have had your own sudden and visceral a-ha moment lately, do feel free to share!
In the meantime, much love to you, and feel free to peruse a few little extras for reading, listening and contemplating below.
Gem 💛
TO READ …
Here are three things I know for sure about transformation.
Transformation is never linear.
We don’t envision our ideal life and career, then make the changes required in neat, planned, logical steps.
We stumble and fall. We learn from our fumbles. We shake off old patterns. We feel like we’re back at the beginning again … oh no, not this! I thought I’d learned! I thought I’d changed! How can I be here AGAIN? We peel the layers of who we thought we were until, slowly but surely, the light of who we are shines through. This light is only able to shine because our stumbles and falls created translucency and clarity. We cannot transform without failing, and our failures are the fertiliser that allows us to flourish.
AND
Transformation can be easeful and enjoyable.
If we enter the transformation arena calmly and courageously, ignoring the very understandable temptations to kick, scream or avoid it altogether, we find that every step is supported. We take one step and the next appears. The right books land in our lap, the right people email us at the right time. Transforming willingly is a ticket to stepping into flow, and life starts to feel magical.
AND
Transformation takes enormous courage, but offers tremendous reward.
Transformation gives us meaning. It’s where the juice of life is. It provides us with increased clarity, authenticity, freedom, joy, purpose and peace of mind. And, when we look back, our decisions to step into the fires of transformation and to withstand the heat are what makes us feel most proud.
